marketing tips to help you grow your business

Exhibiting at the B2B exhibition in October?

If you're one of the many companies who have booked a stand at the B2B exhibition next month have you decided how you are going to create a big impact to draw the crowds in? Is this an opportunity to launch a new product or service, or is a promotional offer the way to create a bit of excitement.

If you're looking to build up your database of new contacts why not organise a competition on the day with a worthwhile prize in return for visitors giving you their contact details. The prize could be a way for the winner to experience what you offer at no charge for example, or bottles of bubbly always seem to be a popular choice.

Whatever your plans are, we can help turn them into reality. We can produce roller banners, pop-up stands and other exhibition graphics to help you stand out at the show. And if you need a few thousand promotional leaflets ....... we can help with that too!

Direct Mail still an important part of your marketing mix

Sending targeted direct mail to your clients can help to generate new sales enquiries for you, even in these recessionary times. However, the importance of good data cannot be under estimated. Sending a mail shot to "Dear Sir or Madam" is really at best, junk mail, and will limit the uptake of whatever offer you are making. It is far better to send out a smaller number of mail pieces to individual names, and then to follow them up with a phone call to determine their level of interest.

Making sure you have a "call to action" is also vitally important. What do you want the recipient to do once they have received your mailer? If it's not clear the mailer will be destined to end up in the waste bin and an opportunity will have been lost.

We have a tremendous amount of experience in designing mail shots for clients so if you are stuck for ideas, or are not getting the response you are looking for please give us a call on Bury St Edmunds (01284 752266) and we'll be happy to help.

On-line opportunities

A recent survey has suggested that nearly 27% of small businesses still do not have a web site. Maybe it's the thought that it's difficult or expensive to have a site, or perhaps they believe their products or services are not relevant for the web. However, in both situations the companies involved are probably missing opportunities. We have seen many examples of companies having an advert, for example, in local directories such as Yellow Pages or advertising in local newspapers but then not having a web site to back it up. A web site keeps your business open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be cheaper than having a listing in a paper based directory.

Every business needs to promote itself and a professionally designed site which ranks well in search engines such as Google can help attract new clients. For a free, no obligation discussion on how a web site could help your business, why not contact us on Bury St Edmunds (01284) 752266.

Vouchers and special offers on your web site

Having a web site is a great way to promote your business, but can you quantify how much business it brings in? A great way to monitor this is to include a money off or special promotion voucher on your web site. Clients then have to bring in the voucher to take advantage of it. When used in conjunction with web site analytical software such as Google Analytics you can then start to generate some really useful information on how many visitors to your site visit your voucher page and how much extra business this generates.

Double sided business cards

How useful is your business card? It's obviously got your contact details on but how about turning it into a card that clients will actually want to keep hold of. If you are an accountant for example why not put some useful information on tax allowances on the back, or for retailers why not include a loyalty scheme for frequent purchases. Hotels could put useful telephone numbers of local attractions, and restaurants a special offer voucher for an evening meal on a Monday for example. What could you include about your business which would be of value to your customers?
